The trailer for the Doom Movie is out. They show it taking place on a Mars research facility. It looks like instead of the gates of Hell being opened, they are going for something dealing with mapping the human genes. It looks like a Resident Evil rip off. One thing that did stand out is that they have some of the fighting in first person perspective. It looked kind of goofy and very video gameish. It may be cool, or it may just turn out to be highly annoying and cause motion sickness. I had a hard time not laughing just watching the trailer. It looks like they may have paid attention to some of the fan complaints, but the human genetic science experiment going wrong, and everything in the complex is now a mutant zombie is just a bit stale.

Well there goes Nintendo's Holiday hopeful. Zelda: Twilight Princess is getting a new release date of sometime next year instead of November. What was their reason?
"After much discussion, the Zelda development team has requested extra timeā€¦."
I think the reason is they are trying to remember how to make a Zelda game that an audience over 15 would enjoy playing, or a game that has good graphics.

The horse back fighting looks cool. I am not sure about the whole wolf form thing though. As long as it doesn't involve time traveling, seasons, or a talking hat. I hope you can change wolf form any time, but I have a feeling that it will only be allowed when standing on a fairy tree stump...

Guess my GC will still have only two or three games that I enjoy playing. Metroid Prime 1&2 and Smash Brothers when I have friends over. For some reason I do not enjoy playing F-Zero on the GC as much as the N64 version.

Well the expected prices for the XBox 360 are out. They are looking at two sale bundles, one combo will be selling for $399.99 and looks like a Costco mega pack having everything to get you up and running in HD TV; and the bare bones pack for $299.99.

How much did the first XBox sell for when it first came out? I think it was around $200-250. I guess the new price is not too bad. I wonder if it will hinder sales that much? The PSP is selling for about $300 and it sold out in many places; even though it is just a glorified PS1 with a few new tricks. Most people buying the systems are parents and grandparents that, with enough begging, will get there kid a system no mater the price. The other group is young adults that grew up playing video games, are used to having the newest systems, and used to using the Visa card to get what they want. I don't see the price tag being a big issue, but it will hinder some people from getting it for some time. I wonder if the game prices will be going up?

With the expected release date being in November, I am expecting to see news stories of people spending over $600 to get one under the Christmas tree for their little brats. I am also guessing that the original XBox will be taking another price break, maybe even hitting around $100.

I am a little bit nerves about the supply of 360s on the release date. It is the middle of August, and from what it sounds like they are still not sending game developers a finished product for their testing. They may be cutting it close for their production to have enough units for Christmas. I don't think Microsoft will hold back on production expense though, they don't want anything to hurt their chance to beat Sony and Nintendo in holding the new console market. We will see how this goes, should be fun.

What a great wakeup call. Space shuttle Discovery lands safely The double sonic boom shook my whole house. I wanted to whoop and holler when the back wheels touched down, it was such a good feeling to see a safe return. I even found myself shedding a few tears. I remember both of the tragic accidents of the Challenger and Columbia, so a safe flight was such a relief. I live close enough to Edwards Air Force Base, so I am hopping to see the shuttle once again fly over my house piggy backing back to Florida. Good job NASA.

My only question is when are they going to start making a replacement for these ancient birds? The Venture Star looked to be such a promising replacement, too bad NASA had to pull out its funding, leaving Lockheed high and dry. I wonder if a company will be as willing to work with NASA on such a project again?

I could not imagine loosing a front tooth, but loosing 8 of them is just beyond my comprehension! As some of you may know, Venomous Kate at electric venom had a bike accident and smashed in her face. I want to ask the few people that come across this blog to drop by and help her out. Use a few of the quarters you would have tossed in an arcade and help her out. Thank you.
